Not only is Oswald Pereira a master of the crime genre but he is also
an excellent editor, a patient listener and an extraordinary human
being. In Oswald I haven’t found just a fantastic writer but also a
lifelong friend and mentor.
Oswald Pereira I feel has advanced further as a writer in the past five years than in his previous stint as a journalist. His words engage you intellectually and leave you awakened, intrigued and excited. Each moment is flawlessly crafted—the characters are real and lush, the writing is coherent and enjoyable. Loaded with irony and paradox, the story deals sensitively with a plot line that could have been more sensationalistic. The strongest feature perhaps is Oswald’s clarity here and like his characters he portrays he’s serious. In a good way Oswald’s journey as a writer is getting closer and closer to an idea whose time has come.
I am really happy that from a ‘reporter’ of details Oswald Pereira has graduated to a full-fledged author. This transition is very difficult, as once you are a journalist you cannot move away from facts and remain tied down to reality. But now it seems that Oswald has successfully transited into the world of fiction.
Oswald Pereira is a writer with rare insights and the ability to make words work for him. His creative and social integrity drives him to speak from the heart.
Oswald Pereira has an amazing imagination. I am looking at him a few years hence in the stratosphere of literary greats.
Ever smiling. Ever patient. Ever persistent. That is Oswald Pereira in a nutshell. It is hard to believe that this jovial person would even know of the existence of the dark underworld, even more so to believe that he had once been a crime reporter. He has an unparalleled ability to turn acquaintance into friend. No wonder then that our interaction with him at the Times School of Journalism turned into a bond that has lasted far beyond his tenure as a teacher for most of us.
A fine blend of talent, expertise and love for teaching, Oswald Sir made grammar and its rules easy for his students. His classes on techniques for rewriting were hailed as a source of imbibing knowledge with fun. None of us can ever forget those presentations on writing and grammar, peppered with humour and music, aimed at making the grasp for the subject easy. A writer, a teacher and a friend, Oswald Sir is a person every young growing professional should have a chance to interact with.
Mr Pereira’s English language training package is good, especially the professional communications modules, which helped me a lot in my professional growth.
Mr Pereira’s English language training has been a great experience for me. I like his teaching technique. I have gained a lot of confidence in speaking English. I have also learnt to write better English. This is one of my biggest achievements in life.
